GMU students come from various regions and levels or groups of society. Many of them now live far away from their parents and family, leaving them with no choice but to manage everything including their time and activities by themselves. All the activities would not run well and can even distract their learning process if they fell ill.
Health service costs higher every year, making it hard for the students to bear up with it individually. This matter will be of no difficulty providing there is togetherness and collectivity through the mechanism of Heath Insurance, which will avert from them the individual risk to collective risk, and by this switch the uncertainty of health service cost into a certain one. The University of Gadjah Mada, through GMC Health Centre (GMC) has provided its students with health service insurance.
GMC Health Centre is a non-profit institute implementing health insurance which also serves as a prime health centre called managed care system. GMC Health Center is supported by qualified doctors and is a family doctor medical centre as well.

Primary health service at GMC HC, Layanan kesehatan tingkat primer di klinik GMC HC, checking in including from governmental hospital or private ones that cooperates with each other in DIY (Special Region of Yogyakarta ) (Dr. Sarjito hospital, Panti Rapih hospital, Bethesda hospital, PKU Muhammadiyah hospital of Yogyakarta, Ludiro Husodo hospital, Gigi dan Mulut (tooth and mouth) FKG UGM hospital, General Hospital around DIY)
3. GMC HC?s facilities including doctor?s air conditioned practice room, air conditioned waiting room with TV, and medical treatment by professional medics.

IMPORTANT NOTE

1. GMC HC?s medical treatment is 100% free of charge, including for the medicine.
2. For supporting diagnostic service and checks in for further treatment in the cooperating hospitals, GMC HC assumes 75 % of the total cost, adjusting to the rate in the referral hospital (maximum Rp. 15.000.000 per case per year). The rest (25%) is the patient?s debt.
3. Psychological consultation is on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at: 4 to 6 PM. Registration is completed before 4 PM and GMC HC does not serve registration through phone calls.
4. For cases like accidents that involve other vehicles, GMC HC?s clients is recommended to arrange for claim exchange to PT JASA RAHARJA accompanied with a report letter from the police, an original receipt from the hospital, a medical report from the doctor and the patient?s ID.

Sport Center
With the aim of supporting the supervision of students? talent and interests, the University of Gadjah Mada is equipped with the following facilities:

• Stadion Madya Stadion Madya or Madya stadium, which is located at the lembah UGM (UGM?s valley) can be used for activities such as football, athletics, Hockey, along with some other activities that are allowed to perform by the rector of UGM. People aside from the UGM?s students and the academic community can also make use of the stadium after getting permission from the rector.
• Softball / Baseball field Softball / Baseball field is used chiefly for Softball/Baseball Unit of UGM and also from outside UGM with the permission of the rector.
• Tennis Court UGM?s tennis court (Indoor as well as outdoor) is located at lembah UGM and available for Tennis unit of UGM, the academic community and other parties that have got the acquiescence of the rector.
• Student?s Arena The student?s arena is divided into three parts, namely the secretariat room, the meeting room and the hall. The secretariat room is utilized as the secretariat office of the UKM (the students? activity unit). In addition to being employed for sports activities such as basketball, volley ball, badminton, and martial arts, the hall room is also used for events like exhibitions and art performances.
• 1.Open Field for Art/Musical Performance UGM also provides us with an open field that is situated at UGM?s valley for musical events or other students? activities that need an open and not to mention, vast field. The permit of exploiting the field for musical performances can only be given twice in a month and only on holiday eves (Sundays or national holidays). To use the field, the students must propose a request for permission from the rector, in this case the vice-rector of the alumni and student affairs sector.
